About me

A bit about me, my interests, and what drives me to build and contribute.

Josimar Madrigal

I'm a Costa Rican student finishing a technical diploma in Network Configuration, Communications Support and Operating Systems at CTP Limón. I'm deeply interested in computer science and programming, and I like getting involved in things where I can learn, build, and contribute. I often end up turning that curiosity into projects of my own — from an AAC app and small platforms to a sumo-fighting robot and simple tools built to solve everyday problems. I'm also drawn to intercultural experiences, civic projects, and youth leadership, and I enjoy getting involved in communities and initiatives beyond the classroom.

What ties most of it together is a simple idea: technology is most interesting to me when it can solve a real problem. I'm particularly interested in accessibility and civic participation, where software and technical skills can make information, communication, and opportunities easier to reach.

Moody: Colors That Speak

AAC · Accessibility

An AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) app designed to support communication through ARASAAC pictograms, accompanied by an ESP32-based wearable prototype for expressing emotional states. Selected among the Top 5 nationally at ExpoTécnica 2025 from 60+ competing projects.

PJGYS 2026

Web · Civic tech

Web platform developed for Parlamento Joven Guía y Scout Costa Rica 2026, used to publish and organize 11 legislative proposals with PDF viewing, search, filtering, and progress tracking. I also authored Proposal #6 on communicative accessibility in public spaces, which was selected by my fraction.

Sumobot competition

Robotics

Autonomous sumo-fighting robot built on an ESP32-based board with CircuitPython. The team competed at Maker Faire San José in two consecutive editions, alongside 190+ participating teams each year. I maintain the embedded codebase and help mentor incoming teammates.

Aion: Academic Information & Opportunity Network

Web · Community

A student-led web platform I helped build to connect a school community of 1,000+ learners with academic and leadership opportunities. More than 50 opportunities have been organized and published so far, combining student-submitted listings with stories and practical information.

Jasiel's PytoClicker

Python · Desktop

A lightweight Python autoclicker built with Tkinter, featuring configurable clicking, hotkey controls, and a minimal desktop interface. The project was also an exercise in restructuring a small application into a cleaner class-based architecture.
